9 This moon is nine days old. Another waxing gibbous moon. This photo was from the 8" f/6 scope. The photo was taken at 10:44 pm EDT on June 19th, 2002. A stunning feature tonight is the crater (Copernicus). Copernicus is 60 miles in diameter and 12,600 feet deep. Copernicus is a relatively young crater. It stands out so well because it's surrounded by a smooth dark plain. Above and to the left of Copernicus, the Carpathian Mountains are coming into view. Some of the peaks in this range are 6600 feet high. South of Copernicus is the faint crater(Fra Mauro. Apollo 14 landed just north of this crater on January 31st, 1971. Moon's age: 9 days 2 hours 56 minutes صوره قمر عمره 9 أيام وهو الآن قمر متزايد waxing gibbous صورت بواسطة 8" f/6 scope التقطت الصورة بتاريخ17/7/2002 في تمام 10:44 مساء ومن ملامح تلك الليلة المزهلة فوهة ((Copernicus التي يبلغ اتساع قطرها 60 ميلا وعمقه 12600قدم . وان(Copernicus) وهى نسبيا فوهة حديثه وهى تبدو قائمه بحاله جيدة نظرا لكونها محاطة بسهل ناعم مظلم. وانه اعلي وعلى اليسار من (Copernicus) وان سلسله جبال الكارباثيانCarpathian تبدأ في الظهور. وان بعض من تلك القمم في تلك السلسلة تبلغ ارتفاعها 6600 قدما وبالجنوب من فوهة Copernicus توجد الفوهة الضعيفة (Fra Mauro وان أبوللو 14 هبطت بالغرب من تلك الفوهة في 31يناير 1971 . ويبلغ عمر القمر فيها 9 أيام 2 ساعة 56 دقيقه . Copernicus 10 This moon is ten days old. The photo was taken at 10:30 pm EDT on June 20th, 2002 with the 8" telescope. Sinus Iridum also called the(Bay of Rain Bows) , is visible near the north part of the terminator. The Jura Mountains ring the western edge of the Bay of Rainbows. The 6600 foot tall Straight Range is to the bay's northeast. Northwest of the crater Tycho is the(Marsh Of Diseases)! Of course, the marshes, bays and seas on the moon don't contain any water. They are filled with lava that flowed across the moon and filled the lower areas of the moon billions of years ago. Now they are just dry smooth plains. Moon's age: 10 days 2 hours 42 minutes. صوره قمر عمره 10 أيام التقطت الصورة بتاريخ20/7/2002 في تمام 10:30 مساء بواسطة 8" telescope.إن Sinus Iridum ويطلق عليه أيضا اسم خليج قوس قزح(Bay of Rain Bows) الجزء الشمالي من الخط الفاصل .إن سلسله جبال الجورا Jura Mountains تطوق الحد الغربي من خليج قوس قزح . Bay of Rain Bowsوان Straight Range ; البالغة 6600 قدم ارتفاعا تتجه نحو الشمال الشرقي لـ (Bay of Rain Bows). وفى شمال غرب فوهة Tycho تقع مستنقع الإمراض (Marsh Of Diseases) . وبالطبع فان المستنقعات والخلجان والبحار على القمر لا تحتوى على أي ماء ولكنهم جميعا ملئ بالحمم التي تدفقت عبر القمر وملأت المناطق المنخفضة منه منذ بلايين السنين. وهى الآن عبارة عن مجرد سهول جافه ملساء . ويبلغ عمر القمر فيها 10 أيام 2 ساعة 42 دقيقه .
