Lunar Eclipse
This is a full moon. The photo was taken during one of the rare times that the full moon passes through the Earth's shadow. Sunlight that refracts or bends through the Earth's atmosphere gives an eclipsed moon a reddish look. Usually the full moon passes above or below shadow because the moon's orbit is tilted five degrees from the Earth's orbit around the Sun. It took the moon 23 minutes to pass through the umbra on this eclipse. The umbra is the inner, darker part of the Earth's shadow. The photo was shot at 8:30 PM, EST on November 8th 2003. Moon's age: 14 days 12 hours 38 minutes.


كسوف قمري
إن تلك هي صوره لقمر مكتمل وأنها التقطت في وقت من الأوقات النادرة التي يمر فيها البدر من خلال ظل الأرض وان نور الشمس الذي ينكسر أو ينحني من خلال الغلاف الجوى يسفر عن كسوفا قمريا احمر اللون. وعاده ما يمر البدر أعلى أو أسفل ذلك الظل وذلك نظرا لان مدار القمر يميل بمقدار 5 درجات من مدار الأرض حول الشمس .وان القمر استغرق 23 دقيقه ليمر خلال الـ umbra في ذلك الكسوف .وان الـ umbra هي عبارة عن الجزء الداخلي الأكثر تعتيما في ظل الأرض .
التقطت الصورة بتاريخ8/11/2003 في تمام 8:30 مساءا . ويبلغ عمر القمر فيها 14 يوم12 ساعة 38 دقيقه.

This moon is 14 days old. The photo was taken 5 hours and 22 minutes past full moon on June 24th, 2002 at 11:08 pm EDT. Notice the nice ray systems around the craters Tycho, Copernicus, Kepler and Proclus. Craters are formed by meteoric impacts and the rays are formed by the debris blasted out of the crater by the impact. This photo was taken when the moon was low in the sky. When the moon is low, the moonlight cuts through more of our earth's atmosphere. The atmosphere scatters away some of the blue light leaving more of the red and yellow light causing the moon to take on more of an orangish hue. This photograph was shot with a Nikon Coolpix 885 digital camera held up to the eyepiece an 8" reflecting telescope. If you look closely at the southern limb, below Tycho, you can see some mountains poking up over the horizon. These are the(Doerfel ) and ( Leibnitz) mountains. Some of these peaks are thought to be as tall as Mount Everest! Moon's age: 14 days 3 hours 20 minutes.
إن هذه صوره قمر عمره 14 يوم تم التقاطها بعد إتمام اكتماله بـ 5 ساعات و22 دقيقه في تمام الساعة 11:8 صباحا بتاريخ 24/7/2002. لاحظ انظمه الأشعة الرائعة حول كل من فوهات الـ Tycho Copernicus, Kepler and Proclus تكونت فيها الفوهات نتيجة التأثيرات السريعة الخاطفة وتكونت الأشعة نتيجة للحطام الذي عصفت به الفوهات .
والتقطت تلك الصورة عندما كان القمر منخفضا في السماء.وعندما يكون القمر منخفضا فان نوره يغطى جزءا أكثر من غلافنا الأرضي .وان الغلاف الجوى يفرق بعض من تلك الإضاءة الزرقاء تاركا المزيد من الإضاءة الحمراء والصفراء مما يجعل القمر يأخذ المزيد من اللون البرتقالي المتدرج. التقطت تلك الصورة بواسطة كاميرا رقميه من طراز Nikon Coolpix 885 مثبت عليها فتحه رؤية لمنظار عاكس 8".
وإذا نظرنا عن قرب إلى الطرف الجنوبي أسفل Tycho يمكننا رؤية بعض الجبال التي تشع أعلى الأفق فتلك هي جبال . (Doerfel ) and ( Leibnitz)
إن تلك الجبال يعتقد أن بعض قممها تعادل قمم جبال الألب في ارتفاعاتها. ويبلغ عمر القمر فيها 14 أيام 3 ساعات 20 دقيقه.
