اليونيكورن – Unicorn



هو كائن خرافي برأس و جسد حصان يمتلك أرجلا لأيِل و ذيل أسد و قرناً وحيداً في وسط مقدمته .تأتي كلمة يونيكورن

Unicorn

من الكلمة اللاتينية
"Uni"و تعني الواحد ,و
Cornuو تعني القرن , بجمع اللفظتين تترجم الى الكائن ذو القرن الواحد



بالرغم من مظهره الرائع و جماله فانه يقاتل بوحشية و عنف شديدين و من المستحيل امساكه خصوصاً اذا حوصر لكنه يستجيب بسهولة للمسة أنثى عذراء ..




و كانت هذه هى الطريقة التى يتم بها صيد اليونيكورن حيث ياتى الصيادون بعذراء جميلة الى المنطقة التى يوجد بها اليونيكورن بالغابة لياتى طوعا اليها و ينام بالقرب منها فياتى الصياد لامساكه




و فى قرن اليونيكورن قدرة كبيرة على الشفاء لذلك كان يمثل اهمية قصوى للملوك فكانو يشربون من كئوس خاصة مصنوعة من قرون اليونيكورن حتى يتاكدوا من ان الشراب غير مسموم



ان اليونيكورن بشكل عام يرمز للقوة و الجمال الفريدين من نوعهما بالاضافة الى انه شعار خاص بالنبلاء في القرون الوسطى و لم يذكر كثيرا فى الاساطير الاغريقية و لكن فى المقابل ذكر الحصان المجنح البيجاسوس بدلا منه و سنتكلم عنه لاحقا.
